This new lens achieves very high image quality that competes with normal-zoom lenses such as SIGMA 24-70mm F2.8 DG DN Art, and guarantees a perfect match with these lenses during shooting.

With the lens design specifically for a camera with a short distance between camera mount and sensor, the DG DN series of lenses achieves a superb combination of optical performance and compactness that would not have been possible with lenses for DSLR cameras. Thanks to the stepper motor system which is optimized for both phase detection AF and contrast AF, SIGMA 100-400mm F5-6.3 DG DN OS Contemporary photography with video or AF tracking is very smooth.

Uncompromising image quality
The lens construction of the SIGMA 100-400mm F5-6.3 DG DN OS | Contemporary consists of 16 groups and 22 elements, with one FLD and four SLDs used for effective correction of aberrations and distortion. The new lens is built with the latest optical design technology and optimized for mirrorless systems and provides the same high-resolution image quality right out the edges. In addition, it achieves consistently high levels of optical performance and utilizes its functions as zoom lenses in all conditions, at every focal length from wide angle to telephoto, and from close-up to telephoto photography.

A complete range of features for smooth and easy ultra-telephoto photography
In addition to a fast and smooth AF enabled by the stepper motor optimized for the latest algorithm, SIGMA has 100-400mm F5-6.3 DG DN OS | Contemporary a powerful four-step image stabilization (OS) * built into the lens. In combination with a camera body with built-in image stabilization, the lens corrects for pitch and gear shaft rotation, providing even more powerful image stabilization.
It also has the AFL button to which the user can assign selected functions on the camera side and the focus limiting switch which allows the AF range to be optimized according to the shooting purpose.
At the same time, by connecting the lens to the SIGMA USB DOCK UD-11 (sold separately / only for L-Mount), recently developed exclusively for use with mirrorless cameras, users can adjust the amount of focus movement when using the focus ring on exclusive SIGMA Optimization Pro software , which allows users to adjust the focus of their desired timing in MF mode.
Furthermore, the SIGMA 100-400mm F5-6.3 DG DN OS Contemporary supports straight zoom, which allows photographers to also zoom in and out by adjusting the hood, enabling intuitive and quick view angle adjustments

Lightweight and compact lens construction
SIGMA designed a lightweight and durable ultra-telezo zoom lens as an extension to its Contemporary series.
SIGMA 100-400mm F5-6.3 DG DN OS Contemporary packs features required for image angles corresponding to focal lengths of 100-400 mm in a compact, lightweight body. It's not just about weight loss, but the lens is durable with carefully selected materials in the right place. For example, a magnesium alloy is used where the stand bracket is to be connected, which must be very strong.
To enable pairing with camera housings of different sizes, there is a tripod mount (sold separately). Since this helps reduce all the load on the camera body, photographers can shoot long hours without worrying about it. The tripod bracket comes with a strap that also helps reduce the load on the bracket when carrying around the lens or during transport.
